Here is one of the homework assignments from my figure invention class. When I was growing up, I did a lot of coffee shop sketching and I got somewhat comfortable with drawing people in natural standing poses, but when it came to action poses (running, punching, etc) I didn't quite have the hang of it. I realized, I was only comfortable with it because I had drawn from life so much, so I started studying video reference for action poses to build that vocabulary in my mind. These are examples from this video.

My buddy howard Shum (who wrote a comic shown in this video)got a new camera he wanted to test out, so he came to the skate park with me!
