

Disclaimer: in no way can you take any of this as the “right” way of doing things. I’m still learning and some of this stuff may even be wrong. ReplyDeleteObservation: doesn't the curve of the pilot's back distinguish it as organic. Which makes the propulsion canister more 'plastic.?' Just thinking and typing...
DSM: the reason I would do it would be that I would want a strong pose as he gets ready for takeoff, not a sleepy or watery pose. Also, this is a single image and I would want to make the strongest graphic statement I could make. Straight vs curve. either way, I would make sure the fire shot off with the gesture of the back and all the details were part of the bigger gesures.
