construction and proportion are key


I don't actually draw this way, I draw more gestural, but I feel like you should learn construction and proportion first. Here I actually just traced the construction right on top of this Mulan drawing. The trick is learning to see the big simple shapes and not the details.

  5. when you start drawing the head (construction stage), why would you want to put the ball shape, rather than just draw the head shape?
